At HootBoard, we are building engaging tourist information networks using kiosks. These help tourists find key local information that is specially curated by the local tourism bureau along with deals on experiences, restaurants etc. This is an opportunity to build very cool in-real-life (IRL) technology in the smart-city + tourism space. As of today, there are about 1,000 contributors on Github. Unique features like Virtual DOM and reusable components grab the attention of front end developers. Despite being just a library for ‘View’ in MVC (Model-View-Controller), it’s giving strong competition to full-blown frameworks like Angular, Meteor, Vue, etc. Check out the belo2w graph which shows the trend of popular JS frameworks: Front-end developers also have to test and maintain core website elements and ensure that these can be reused not only throughout the website by them, but by their team and potential successor in the digital marketing company website role.
